Which language is used to develop Browsermon?

Python is the primary programming language used to construct Browsermon and its associated components.

Why Browsermon is better than any industry EDR (endpoint detection and response) for browser artifact collection?

Browsermon is designed specifically to work seamlessly with all types of browsers (Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox, etc) on any Linux and Windows endpoints. Whereas, conventional EDRs monitor limited types of browsers and do not collect rich artifacts required for deep forensic analysis. Browsermon also provides easy exportable formats (including JSON and CSV) and can be further ingested into any security analytical platform (like Splunk, Elastic, etc).

Can Browsermon log multiple browsers active on an endpoint in parallel?

Browsermon is a multi-threaded agent and can discover and log all active browser profiles created by multiple active users on endpoints.

Does Browsermon provide a central upgrade through its central watchdog server?

Not yet, but this feature will be provided in future releases.

Can the Browsermon capture web browser traffic?

Browsermon can only log web browser activity and related session metadata. It doesn’t provide HTTP or HTTPS payload capture yet.

What authentication privileges are required by Browsermon?

Browsermon needs privileged access (root/administrator) to the OS in order to collect browser artifacts.
